Only 3 weeks, 15 hours, 36 minutes and 22 seconds (as of this post) until we head out to my father's house in Southern Oregon. Beautiful Ocean, quiet beach house, hot tubs, crabbin, hiking and beach combing.
Can't wait to see my father of whom I haven't seen in two years. This year my father's mother Wanda is flying out from Minnesota to be there at the same time. It will be the first time she has met her great grandchildren and with the death of her husband Jim in January, I hope that it will be a refreshing and uplifting moment in her life. I will also get to meet my uncle's wife Debbie who has heard about me since I was 12, but never met me.
Only 5 days, 21 hours, 47 minutes and 37 seconds (as of this post) until we head out to my father's house in Southern Oregon.
These pictures are from our 2004 vacation.
We are all ready to go, just have to pick up a few more items, pack the car and get out of here.
Oregon Vacation 2006 - A Wonderful Time For The Whole Family Tuesday, Jul 18, 2006, at 04:32 AM VACATION 2006 -GUID-
The vacation this year to the Oregon Coast was outstanding. We drove a total of 2,704 miles during the trip (about 1040 miles each way), staying in Susanville California on the way there, and Winnemucca on the way back. Crabbing, beach combing, hot tubing - fresh sea food including prawns, scallops, halibut and dungeness crab were abundantly eaten. It was wonderful to be with family - to see my father, my grandmother, my aunt and uncle - and to just spend time with the family.
This is a view from the deck of my father's main beach house. Note the hottub on the left where I spent many nights, beer in hand watching the sun set and the magnificent array of stars in the sky.
Alexis is looking at the yummy dungeness crab that we were about to cook.
The Southern Oregon Coast - looking northward. The mountain in the distance on the edge is Humbug Mountain, just south of Port Orford. This was taken from the beach house front lawn.
Sunset, the first day.
The second day, calm seas, partly cloudy with the openings where the sun was shining on the ocean.
Great Grandma Wanda Hoenie, holding Spencer in her lap whilst excited little Lexi hopped all around.
Great Grandma Wanda Hoenie, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Jim.
Alexis in her carseat watching Spongebob Squarepants during the long drive.
Sitting down to dinner with Grandma, Granpa and Aunt Jenni.
Busy on Bandon Beach Oregon looking for beautiful Agates. We found hundreds and got a little sunburned.
The Breaker House Beach Home at sunset.
All in all it was a great vacation and it's sad to be back home. Family can email me at any time to request pictures.
Lexi's Aunt Jenni is very close to Lexi and requested some Oregon pictures from our vacation this year. Here Alexis and Jen are looking for Agates on the Oregon Coast.
