I learned to mouse-look with Quake 1. Since then I've played Quake 2, Quake 3 and Quake 4.

| I ordered Quake 4 off Amazon, should be here this weekend. I'll write a couple posts concerning my thoughts of the game when it gets in.

| Taking My Battle Into Quake 4 Posted: Mar 21, 2006, at 04:56 AM Stored Under Topic: GAMING - QUAKE -GUID- Posted By: Infymus | | |
Played another hour of Quake 4 and I couldn't put it down.
It installed perfectly and runs like a champ on my system.
At first I had the bad feeling that it was basically DOOM 4 - tight spaces, dark hallways, monsters jumping out at you at all times.
But then I played on and felt as if I were part of the story line. Marines are with me and help me fight - and get in my way, as usual.
This is a great game, much more enjoyable than DOOM 3 ever was.
Best part: There's a light attached to my gun. I don't know who came up with the idea in DOOM 3 to only be able to hold your flashlight or your gun, well, I think they were fired.
Awesome game. There are good puzzles to be solved and sometimes you have to back-track over some of the same ground. In DOOM 3 there was nothing like that, it was just a mad series of dark rooms that led on forever.
The cool thing about Quake 4 is that it feels like you just stepped out of Quake 2. The same Strogg architecture that was present in Quake 2 is in Quake 4, but far more beautiful and well defined. Of course, it's been what, 7 or 8 years since Quake 2 came out?
Ah the wonders of video quality.
