Thought I'd get a topic posted up here for the latest game online that I'm planning on playing. It goes live February 8, but I am going to wait until after March 6th before I sign up.
I dislike playing games right away when they are released. There are oftentimes a lot of bugs. Two weeks can patch most of the critical stuff.
Onward to D&D Online.

| Dungeons And Dragons Online, Reading The Forums Posted: Feb 13, 2006, at 03:04 AM Stored Under Topic: GAMING - DDO ONLINE -GUID- Posted By: Infymus | | |
I've been reading the DDO Forums to watch what the Beta testors are saying.

I've found quite a bit of talk about being very little solo content. From what I gather, you will be spending a lot of time looking for groups so you can go on a dungeon sprawl. I've also found that the game is incredibly frustrating.
A friend once told me not to read the forums because they would eat my mind.
He could be right.
I'm concerned with how well the game will work when it is released. If you pick up the game when it first goes GOLD (live), you run the risk of being a BETA testor while they get the game running. Servers crash due to unforseen load. Client crashes due to bugs in code. The list could go on forever.
When Ultima Online came out it was a goddamn nightmare from the get-go. Billing issues, client crashes, server crashes - you name it.
No, I think I am going to put this whole thing on hold. I have too much other stuff I could be working on.
