| Happy 3rd Birthday Alexis Anne! Posted: Sep 10, 2006, at 08:05 AM Stored Under Topic: ALEXIS - SECTION 4 -GUID- Posted By: Infymus | | |
Today was Alexis Anne's 3rd birthday.
Here she is opening her presents (a Dora Chutes and Ladders) while Spencer is quite subdued by the wrapping paper.
Here she is with her favorite gift, a small guitar that fits her perfectly. Sad that one string broke immediately, but daddy can fix that later.
Here is a yellow bird that her Grandpa Hoenie got her. It sings and hops.
I think Spencer likes it a lot more, especially once he got a taste of it.
Alexis loves the stuffed animals she gets from her Aunt Barbara.
The race car pappa found that goes forwards and backwards.
Happy Birthday Number THREE Alexis Anne! We Love you!

Here is Alexis, always enjoying a visit from her Grandma, Diana.
Alexis is starting to get a little cabin fever here now and wants to go outside. I don't blame her.

| Alexis Visits The Dentist Posted: Feb 19, 2007, at 07:58 AM Stored Under Topic: ALEXIS - SECTION 4 -GUID- Posted By: Infymus | | |
Alexis visited the dentist for the first time. Here Dr. Muse is attempting to show her the proper way to use a toothbrush. Alexis was quite surprised that it was meant for something more than chewing on or bonking her brother on the head with.
Hmm, she doesn't look too happy about all of that.

Here is Alexis dressed up in her fairy outfit.
I think the glasses make the outfit perfect.

| Oh, I See What You Did There Posted: Feb 19, 2007, at 08:09 AM Stored Under Topic: ALEXIS - SECTION 4 -GUID- Posted By: Infymus | | |
Oh, I see what you did there...
|
In the early 1990's I spent close to $1000 dollars on a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). I had Mario, Zelda, Castelvania, Contra and several other games. These days, the SNES is ancient history with the XBOX 360 out and all. In the latter part of the 90's, I donated my SNES and all of my games to the Primary Children's Medical Center and I never looked back. Once in a while I will bump into a neighbor who was responsible for taking stuff like that to PMCH and I will get all kinds of thanks for what I did. What did I do, really? Well, I hope, although I've never met, a few children who were suffering from illnesses who were able to play my SNES and the games I had, and heal. That is what is good.
Well, fast forward a decade later, and the SNES is now an emulated console on the PC. I have every game ever made by the SNES, and the games that I spent almost a $1000 bucks on - I now have them all.
And guess who is playing the SNES Super Mario World? Alexis. And she LOVES to jump on the turtles heads, jump on her Yoshi, and eat the turtles. She even plays Zelda, A Link To The Past, something I absolutely loved. What amazes me is that in Zelda, this little 3 and a 1/2 year old makes it from her house to the castle, opens the bush, falls in the dungeon and gets all the way down to the princess. She is following in her father's footsteps as a gamer.
Her favorite of them all? Super Mario World.
She jumps all over, getting the Yoshi, eating the turtles and screaming in excitement.
Like father, like daughter. She will be a gamer, I think.

Alexis is getting much better at catching balls now. Here she is in bionic woman mode ready to catch that ball.
|
My daughter is quite adept when it comes to electronics. Trusting her with a $300+ camera sometimes can be daunting, but I've found that by carefully instructing her NOT to drop it, and when she is done to return to it me or momma - she follows through every time.
Alexis has become quite the picture taker. As an adult, when I take pictures, I take into account my years of photography classes. Rules, rules, rules. You must try to frame your pictures. You should try to have a background image with a foreground image.
Alexis takes pictures of whatever tickles her fancy. This, that, the ground, a bug, through her pictures you can see the world through her eyes. Because of this, I hand the camera to her any time she wants. She has a special directory in our pictures directories specifically for her and stamped by date and time. One day she'll be able to go back and see what she took and perhaps find solace there.
My favorites? I love it when she takes pictures of her toes. I love her little toes so much I could just eat them up. The little piggies of my children are heaven to me. Tickling them, kissing them, counting piggies that went to market - all of it is wonderful.
Here is a picture of my favorite piggies.

| I Can Has Nap? K Thanks Bye. Posted: Aug 29, 2007, at 04:16 AM Stored Under Topic: ALEXIS - SECTION 4 -GUID- Posted By: Infymus | | |
Alexis was watching Sponge Bob. I went down to play some games a bit and when I came up, she was under the TV fast asleep.
I covered her up with a blanket and let her sleep. It is sad to know these sweet days are rapidly dissapearing. This little girl of mine, this little 2 pound 10 ounce girl is going to be 4 years old come a week from Monday.

| Look Who Is Almost Four Years Old Posted: Sep 4, 2007, at 04:40 AM Stored Under Topic: ALEXIS - SECTION 4 -GUID- Posted By: Infymus | | |
This amazing little girl is almost four years old. She started pre-school today.
Next Monday she will be four. This little angel of mine is going to be four. She ages me.
One of the gifts from us to her for her birthday was a "big girl" bed.
A nice single bed with a trundle for sleep-overs and a night stand. Her room is so danged cute and she loves it. She says "Daddy, come and see my cute room!" Later on this fall we will paint her room pink for her.
