| Good News - I Finally Solved My Legacy GT Problems Posted: Dec 26, 2006, at 05:02 AM Stored Under Topic: CARS - 2007 MAZDA CX7 -GUID- Posted By: Infymus | | |
Today I finally solved the problems I have been having since day one with my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT. Gone is the hesitation, stuttering and partial surging. Gone is the tightness in the transmission when shifting. Gone are the problems with shifting different gears and having it almost kill or stutter.
I sold my Legacy GT today and bought a new 07' Mazda CX7 fully loaded. Nav system, BOSE sound, wheels, key-less entry, key-less ignition, remote start, xenon lights, sunroof, chrome wheels, leather - the whole works - for GET THIS: $2,500 less than I paid for my LGT Sedan.
The interior is beautiful - love the NAV system!
I would have a picture of me flipping off my LGT, but I would rather have different memories of the car that had too many problems to keep as a daily driver.
If you search through my threads on Legacy GT, you will see my frustration mounting more and more every day. Problems with spring rates because of weight distribution. Hesitation. Stutter. Stinky Subaru Clutch. Transmission problems with trying to get it in first gear - which mostly got solved by Subaru Dealership - and I paid for that. Problems with having Subaru fix issues with the car under warranty because of modifications. The problems existed before; Subaru denied there was any stuttering or hesitation time and time again. Even those here on LGT who managed to convince their dealers of the problem - only got their ECUs shipped back for reprogramming only to have them return, stuttering again.
Fear not, I will not be leaving the LGT community for you see I bought two Legacy GTs. Wagon and Sedan. My wife has the LGT wagon and I really have enjoyed it for the time being. I took it on a 3k trip this summer and really really enjoyed the boost, the steering wheel controls - and the legroom - my knees didn't hurt the whole trip.
And yes, I sold the car with UP and DOWN pipes and springs. It was just too much trouble to pay the hundreds of dollars to take them off, and since I don't have a shop, I said screw it. I feel 100% better now that the car is just gone because what I got is really an amazing car. The Cobb Access ECU I unmated and will be selling soon.
So cheers everyone, you won't be hearing me bitch about my LGT anymore.

Just picked up a new CX7 after Christmas. Love the NAV, auto start, bose system and all.
Only comment I have so far is that the automatic heating system and the fan speed is not enough. Being that the temperature sensor is so close to the heat output, on a 22F morning, I have to switch to manual mode because the fan speed drops to half long before the car gets warmed up on a 75F setting. The fan speed is not enough to heat the interior cabin of the CX7, not by far. On a 22F morning, it will take 20 minutes to heat up the cabin because the fan is just not blowing hard enough to put out enough heat. To comphensate, I often turn off the climate control, turn the fan on full, turn on the AC and set it to recycle air. Then I can heat it up faster.
Today it is snowing hard outside. After lunch, me and three guys jumped in the car. The windows fogged up immediately and became so bad, we had to stop because I just couldn't see anything. The fan, even on high with AC for defrost or in cabin was just not enough to comphensate. I find that rediculous and dangerous.
I'm coming from a Legacy GT Sedan (325hp, 350Tq) so this new CX7 is a little strange for me to get used to. So far I am really enjoying it.
